Tip 1: Always Double Cleanse

This key tip is pivotal for the next series of steps, why you ask? In order to ensure maximal absorbance of those precious active skin products ingredients. Also, If oil, dirt, bacteria and makeup are left behind on the skin at night, your skin will be more prone to becoming congested and you may wake up with a new breakout.

What products should you use for your skin type?

Oily/Combination Skin:  For these skin types it is best to start with a Micellar Cleansing Water on a soft cotton round to remove makeup. Follow this up with an AHA cleanser, such as a glycolic resurfacing cleanser for a deep clean.

Sensitive/dry Skin: Those of us with dry skin may not be able to tolerate a nightly glycolic acid cleanser, it is best to alternate your nights with a hydrating gel cleanser. If you have sensitive or dry skin, you will benefit from a Phyto-Active Cream Cleanser which is less drying to the skin.

Remember: When washing your face be careful not to pull or tug at the skin also do not rub dry with a towel. Instead be very gentle and pat the skin dry

Tip 2: Toner

The best way to ensure the next few steps are not in vain and ensure your skin soaks up all the products to come is by ensuring you have the right toner. Often times double cleansing will not remove all makeup, oil or traces of dirt and bacteria, this is where toner helps to get rid of this excess. Another benefit of toner is that it balances skin pH, however it is important to choose a toner that is closest to the skins pH which is 5.5. Our skin pH is on the acidic side of the pH spectrum. The acidic nature of the skin maintains the function of the skin barrier and the ability to ward off infection. If toner pH is too high 8-14 (more alkaline than acidic)  it can lead to skin irritation, inflammation, growth of harmful bacteria, drying and even breakouts.

Tip 3: Retinoids
